In fact, it has a dedicated branch to offer solutions that its computing platform can deliver in medicine and was among the first players significantly investing in AI. \u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>These initiatives might have been seen with some confusion five or seven years ago but certainly gave NVIDIA an edge in the past two years. The long-term aim was to turn the area into a hub where researchers and startups can collaborate. The latest development in the supercomputer project \u003Ca rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fblogs.nvidia.com\u002Fblog\u002Fcambridge-1-ai-supercomputer-expands-via-dgx-cloud\u002F\" target=\"_blank\">was announced in November\u003C\u002Fa>, when NVIDIA said to make it part of its DGX Cloud to broaden access to AI supercomputing for researchers. \u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Ch2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Powering genomics, drug development and medical imaging with AI\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“\u003Cem>We have to make AI easier to use,\u003C\u002Fem>” \u003Ca rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.hpcwire.com\u002F2021\u002F04\u002F12\u002Fnvidia-aims-clara-healthcare-at-drug-discovery-imaging-via-dgx\u002F\" target=\"_blank\">declared the NVIDIA CEO\u003C\u002Fa> in his 2021 GTC keynote address. It seems like the company is steadily working towards that goal. \u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>&#8220;NVIDIA invested $50 million in Recursion for its drug discovery projects. Recursion is inputting its biological and chemical data to train NVIDIA’s AI models on its cloud platform. The company has also worked with Roche’s Genentech to develop new medications and better treatment protocols. One of NVIDIA’s greatest health-care strengths to date is the \u003Ca rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.nvidia.com\u002Fen-eu\u002Fclara\u002Fbionemo\u002F\" target=\"_blank\">BioNeMo platform\u003C\u002Fa>, a generative AI cloud service specifically made for drug development.&#8221; &#8211; \u003Ca rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.cnbc.com\u002F2024\u002F03\u002F24\u002Fnvidias-ai-ambitions-in-medicine-and-health-care-are-becoming-clear.html\" target=\"_blank\">came the news report in March 2024\u003C\u002Fa>.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>NVIDIA had an eye on applying AI in genomics ever since it launched Clara and it hasn’t lost track of this target. In March 2021, the tech giant announced \u003Ca rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.mobihealthnews.com\u002Fnews\u002Fnvidia-harvard-team-genome-research-toolkit\" target=\"_blank\">a partnership with Harvard University\u003C\u002Fa> to develop an AI-based genome research toolkit. and that Apple has struggled to move it past the preliminary stage. The integrity of health data from Apple’s clinics to support product development has reportedly been an issue raised internally by some employees.
