The modern stethoscope has become a symbol of being a physician. It was high time to bring it to the digital age.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Ch1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A digital stethoscope for a digital age\u003C\u002Fh1>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>A few years ago, I met Hon Weng Chong, a physician in Melbourne, who described a fantastic idea to me. He grew up in the digital world but the devices he had to work with as an aspiring physician were analogue. He decided to change this, and prototyped the first digital stethoscope. The genius of his approach was creating a really simple, portable device that can be paired with a smartphone application. \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fclinicloud.com\u002F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CliniCloud\u003C\u002Fa> was launched in 2016.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>I was among the first people to test it. Users don’t have to wake a child while measuring their body temperature, and the measurement only takes a few seconds.\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>The stethoscope helps listen to the heart or the lung and also measures heart rate. It’s crucial where you place the device – fortunately, the app guides you through either a quick or full check-up. With these intuitive prompts, anyone can use CliniCloud without prior training.\u003C\u002Fli>\u003C\u002Ful>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>CliniCloud integrates recordings from the two devices and brings them together in one application (available both on \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fitunes.apple.com\u002Fus\u002Fapp\u002Fclinicloud\u002Fid1022895474?ls=1&mt=8\">iOS\u003C\u002Fa> and \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fplay.google.com\u002Fstore\u002Fapps\u002Fdetails?id=com.clinicloud.app\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Android\u003C\u002Fa>). You can store these readings on your phone or a secure cloud server, and show them easily to a clinician or patient.
